This will be the regulat monthly meeting of the Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society. The 4-H Spin Club will join us for a youth astronomy program. The club is open to anyone 18 years of age and older with an interest in astronomy. 

Meetings are held in the Boone Maxwell Lodge at Camp Virgil Tate.

Camp Virgil Tate is primarily a 4-H facility that is used by other organizations, mainly youth oriented. It has a lodge and several camper bunkhouses.  The KVAS observatories, known as Breezy Point, are located on a rise above the camp.

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
KVAS continues its rebuilding process, particularly as it relates to outreach. Discussion at this meeting included the need to complete the purchase of the Radio Jove set up gear that KVAS will use to bring radio astronomy into the realm of it astronomy related activities. Also the group agreed to the purchase of a laptop computer to be used the the Starry Night College education program the group is planning to use for educational outreach. AS KVAS reinvents itself, work is progressing on updates to the bylaws and charter. At the December meeting proposals for a new group logo will be considered . KVAS and the 4-H Astronomy "SpIn" Cllbwill celebrate the upcoming holidays with a gathering Dec. 20 before opening up the observatories for a public star party.
