Each year the Lima Astronomical Society hosts additional public observing opportunities during the warmer months; we call this the "Summer Viewing Program". Join us to explore the observatory, see the wonders of the night sky through the observatory telescope, learn about the constellations, see satellites, and more!
Public observing is FREE and is a great time to get youth interested in astronomy by seeing planets, nebulae, star clusters, and more through a large telescope.
Note that every observing event is weather-dependent and may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
The Lima Astronomical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are what allow us to continue hosting outreach events, maintain updated equipment, pay for monthly or annual expenses that allow us to host programs at the observatory, and more.
