The July 18th meeting of the Lake County Astronomical Society will feature a presentation by Jackie Cooney who is a professor at Harper College. Remote sensing of a planetary surface entails more than just taking pretty pictures. Sensing elemental and mineralogical compositions is also very important. How is this accomplished? Come and explore some innovative technologies such as multispectral and hyperspectral cameras, drones on Mars, other planets, and much more! This will be the first time that Jackie will present to LCAS and this is sure to be an interesting, informative and educational event. The meeting will be in person at the Volo Bog.
The presentation will be followed by an LCAS business meeting starting about 8:30PM. Weather permitting, LCAS Members will show Attendees the Night Sky through powerful telescopes.
