Public Program - Space: The Year in Review

Free Public Program starts at about 7:00 p.m. (open to the public). Regular Business Meeting is at 8:30 pm (open to public)
 
PROGRAM 
 Larry Boyle, witht the Chicago Society for Space Studies Speakers Bureau will give a presentation titled, 'Space: The Year in Review'.  Mr Boyle who has presented to LCAS many times in the past has made this talk pretty much a yearly event. This is sure to be a very educational and informative talk.

There is an LCAS business meeting from 7:30 PM to about 8:15 PM. The presentation will start about 8:30. Afterwards LCAS members will show guests the night sky through powerful telescopes (weather permitting). Please join us.

Instructions for the Public:
The free public program will start at about 7:00 p.m. Visitors are also welcome to attend the business meeting that starts at 8:30 p.m. Light snacks and drinks will be available. Children are welcome. After the program, if the weather permits, members of the club will set up telescopes in the parking lot for some viewing of the night sky.

Location Details

Volo Bog
Volo Bog was dedicated as an Illinois Nature Preserve in 1970. Three years later, it was registered as a National Natural Landmark with the United States Department of the Interior. More than 1,100 additional acres of land have been purchased to protect and enlarge the state preserve, which now includes marshes, prairie restoration areas, woodlands and two other bogs.
