Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
Club members helping at the event were: Charlie N., Jim F., Jeff and Gretchen K., and Jack B., Representing the Solar Sisters (a women's astrophotography group) and our club were Amy C. and Ginia F. Astronomy targets were shown through several telescopes. We had an example of a refractor, a Newtonian, and a catadioptric. Jeff ran his Seestar in demo mode. Telescopes were explained and we used our laser optics demo. Ginia helped visitors use a device that shows what the sky would like while turning and looking around. We were in one side of the gymnasium, which limited our visibility. We also had some interference from the robots that kids were running at the robotics group that was adjacent to us. We had around 30 visitors, but there were hundreds at the event, which occupied several rooms and a hallway.
