Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
We had a large public turn out for a very successful open house. We had a variety of telescopes, including refractors, Newtonians and smart telescopes. The sky was clear with reasonable transparency. We could see the Milky Way faintly. This was our first use of new eyepieces we bought for our club's ZWO 107mm APO refractor, which performed beautifully. We had to shut down the observatory due to a large wasp nest in the building. Jack got stung three times while trying to subdue them, so we thought it best to keep the public away from the building. Club members helping were Jack, Charlie, Jim, Kyle, Brandon, Tim, Bill, plus Keon and his partner.
