Death Valley Star Party - February 21-22, 2025 Join us for two evenings under the dark skies of the largest International Dark Sky Site in the United States. This event will be held in conjunction with the National Park Service.NPS Campgrounds are open.
Reservations are required for the Furnace Creek Campground.
All other NPS campgrounds are first come-first served.

10:00pm - Public portion of Astronomy in the Park concludes

10:00am - 2:00pm - Public Solar Observing at Furnace Creek Visitor Center
5:30pm - Sunset

Public Access

The public will park in the designated area and walk up to the Telescope Area.The Park Service will be controlling parking and operating a greeting table, where the public can get red plastic bags to cover any white lights they might bring along. The public is free to walk along the walkway, stepping into any telescope site they find interesting, to view, discuss and learn about objects visible in the telescope.
