Join us at the Minnesota Astronomical Society's Eagle Lake Observatory for a pubic star party! Everyone is welcome, and star parties are free!
(NOTE - the observatory is located in Carver County's Baylor Regional Park. Entrance to the park requires either a daily or annual vehicle permit. For 2019, the daily permit is $6, payable at the entrance to the park. If no attendant is on duty, payment is via an honor box, so exact change is helpful.)
Star parties start at 7 pm and go until at least 10 pm, but they go longer if the weather is good, particularly in the summer when it doesn't get dark until late.
Unless otherwise noted, all Eagle Lake Observatory public star parties are “all weather” events. Even if it is cloudy, someone will be there to show a video, give a presentation, give a tour of the observatory or answer any astronomy questions you may have. However, there may be a need to cancel due to hazardous weather conditions such as severe thunderstorm, tornados and/or snow storms. If any of these conditions are threatening, please check the MAS website homepage at www.mnastro.org, after 4:00 pm the day of the event for cancellation notices.
