An evening of stargazing open to the public at Garland Ranch Regional Park, hosted by the Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District (MPRPD). Telescopes, binoculars and a universe of knowledge are provided by members of the MIRA Astronomy Club. This evening's theme is "Planets and Deep Sky Objects".
Cloud cover cancels this event.

To register with MPRPD for this event, click here, then click on "Star Gazing" in the program headings, then scroll down to the bottom of the webpage and select this event. Registrants will receive email (or text?) notification if the event is canceled due to cloud cover.

Notes to participating MIRA Astronomy Club members: volunteers are needed for this event! Click here to confirm if you plan to participate with your telescope (or tripod-mounted binoculars). Sunset is at 6:17pm on this day. The event is scheduled to begin later than usual, to accommodate a previous event at the same location. Therefore, plan to arrive with your stargazing equipment between 6:00pm and 7:00pm, to give yourself adequate time to unpack and move your car. Parking is available near the Visitor Center, as shown in the map below:
