Beginning Stargazing Field Trip -- We had a full class and enjoyed a great evening stargazing seeing Venus, the Pleiades, the Orion Nebula and the trapezium, M3 the globular cluster 28,000 light years distant, the planetary nebula NGC 3242, M82 the starburst galaxy 12 million light years away, and a faint M51 - the whirlpool galaxy 31 million light years away.

We were fortunate to have great seeing and warm temperatures, with snow all around us! We viewed Mars, M42, M57, M13, M81/82, Albeiro, and others.
