Comments and anecdotes about the event:
The May 2 Piedmont Intermediate School viewing event was a great success! The event drew over 200 students, parents, and teachers. Nick, David, and Dru with the OKC Astronomy brought and manned telescopes. Cloud cover dissipated just before viewing time, enabling pretty good views of a Crescent Moon, Jupiter (including Io, Europa, Callisto and Ganymede), Mars and the Mizar/Alcor Binary Star system. We all had a good evening!
