Our program will be a Zoom presentation by Jack T. Howard, Adjunct Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in Salisbury, North Carolina. Mr. Howard's presentation is titled, "Interstellar Travel: Science Fiction vs. Science Fact.” Jack will delve into the science and possibilities behind traveling beyond our solar system, including some discussion about the “Interstellar” movie. Jack shares the following preview of his talk:

"When the movie Interstellar came out, it generated a lot of interest in, and questions about, the possibility of traveling to other star systems. We'll take a look at the challenges and what it would take to overcome them. This will lead us to the final question of when all this might actually happen.”
