Event

 The "Eclipse Preparation Party" aims to get children and adults prepped and ready to view the next total solar eclipse happening on April 8, 2024.  This free public outreach event coincides with the 243rd Meeting of the American Astronomical Society to be held at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center between January 7-11.

Science activities will be provided by members of the AAS and the NASA PUNCH Team.
Guest speaker presentations at 11:30am & 1:30pm.
Planetarium show "Totality" at 12:30pm & 2:30pm.
Safe solar telescope viewing.

Interactive activities were offered by the Pontchartrain Astronomy Society, AAS and NASA's PUNCH outreach team. Lectures on the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse were provided by special guest speakers. Solar viewing was a highlight for many people. Overall, a great event which reached many interested adults and children.
