This large gathering of scouts includes numerous activities all over Silver Lake. We will be doing astronomy activities at 3 times during the daytime at a pavilion at the following times: 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm. Scouts will choose one of these 3 times to visit the pavilion. We will then set up telescopes and demonstrate radioastronomy at 8:30 pm for the entire group of boys.
I will find out more about where we will set up the daytime demos and nightime viewing. We can include solar viewing during the day if conditions allow. The will be on the theme "Space Rocks" and include the Comet Demo (starring Chef Jeff...that rhymes). Also included: Meteorite or Meteor Wrong? Why are there more craters on Moon than on Earth? and other related activities. The radioastronomy demonstration will continue with that theme with the detection of meteors.
