Before the clouds roll in The Suncoast Stargazers will be set up to observe our Sun in both White and H Alpha light. This is what we affectionately call our "Summer Doldrums" event. Most Florida astronomy clubs shut it down in the hot and cloud covered summer skies but NOT the Suncoast Stargazers.

Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
This is our annual "summer doldrums" morning solar event to keep things moving as we have to deal with the cloudy nights here in Florida from June - September. This breaks up that long stretch and allows us to have a bit of momentum to carry us through these cloudy nighttime sky months. I'm pretty sure that an event like this differentiates us from all other Florida astronomy clubs.
