Comments and anecdotes about the event:
A collection of double stars, nebulae, and galaxies were observed, along with Saturn's delicate rings in the later evening. Children of all ages and sizes were able to enjoy the views, learn about the structures of star clusters (and how we know our place in the galaxy) due to the shared knowledge of some of our members. One member demonstrated live stacking of images in a newer-model electronic eyepiece. A clear night; while not the best seeing conditions, the public seemed to enjoy what they could see and were eager to come back to our next event!
