Bio

Greg Shanos became a Skyscraper member back in 1985 when he witnessed the apparition of Halley’s Comet.  Greg earned a double baccalaureate in both Pharmacy and Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island in 1984, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Rhode Island College in 1989 and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 1999.  Then in 1990 he married and relocated to Sarasota, Florida.  During the COVID-19 shutdown of 2020, Greg once again became a member of Skyscrapers when the lectures were being live-streamed.   

Abstract

 Journey to a Comet.   Currently the internet is ablaze with the recent passage of interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS, raising awareness for the general public.   Greg will discuss the composition of comets, the six spacecraft that have visited various comets with a focus on organic molecules that have been discovered.  PowerPoiunt: "Journey to a Comet"
