The 76th Mid-States Region Astronomical League (“MSRAL”) Convention, June 26-28, 2026 - St. Charles, Missouri
The 2026 MSRAL Convention: The Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri (“ASEM”), located in St. Charles County, Missouri, will host the 2026 MSRAL Convention. We have engaged facilities that can handle over 200 attendees, so we hope to have a good crowd. The
event will be held in St. Charles, MO. It is a 3-day event from June 26 – 28, 2026:
• A StarBQ on Friday evening at the Broemmelsiek Park Visitor Center, followed by telescope viewing at the Broemmelsiek Park Astronomy Site.
• Saturday Convention at St. Charles Community College
• Sunday Convention at the Weldon Spring Site Interpretive Center

Youth: We plan on making youth participation a focus for the Convention and are inviting youth of high school age up thru 25. We would appreciate any efforts that you can do to help advertise this in your local area. We are offering students a ~50%+ discount on the Convention. Admission fee. Youth can send an email to msral2026@asemonline.org to see if funds are available to sponsor their attendance to the Convention.
Chuck Allen and Terry Mann of the Astronomical League will host an astrophotography competition at the 2026 MSRAL Convention. Winners will receive engraved medals and certificates. General Categories. Medals will be awarded in seven categories as follows:
-Deep Sky (>500 mm focal length; no solar system)
-Solar System (>500 mm focal length)
-Rich Field (201-500 mm focal length)
-Wide Field (up to 200 mm focal length)
-Smart Telescopes
-Art and Sketching
-Youth
