Join Jefferson College staff and St Louis Astronomical Society members for public telescope viewing at the future Jeffersn College Observatory site.

Sunset at 4:40 pm

Events before it gets dark
- Tour of observatory site
- Training on how to read a star map
- Library Telescope and Binocular Training
- Meteorite exhibit – “thank you” sent for donation

Events after dark
- Live telescope viewing
- Laser guided constellation tours

Bad weather or clouds could cancel the live event:
- If so, a virtual event held on Facebook and Zoom
- Check Jefferson College Observatory Facebook page one day prior to the event

Bring:
 - Masks and hand sanitizer
 - Chairs and warm clothes
 - Binoculars and red flashlights

SLAS COVID Policies
SLAS provided telescope viewing means that guests and SLAS volunteers will need to touch and look through telescopes. The delicate nature of telescopes and optics prevents frequent and aggressive cleaning of these surfaces.

- Sponsors and guests must recognize the inherent risk of contact with these surfaces.
- All guests must wear face masks when within 10-feet of SLAS volunteers.
- SLAS volunteers may withhold services if they feel guests are not practicing safe behavior.
