Event

Viewing of the partial solar eclipse from the Gateway Arch Entrance Plaza.  The Park will have solar eclipse glasses and an Eclipse Junior Ranger booklet available for distribution, along with at least one filtered telescope.  We would like to see at least one additional telescopes available to show off the eclipse.  We will have a couple of close parking space available for those who volunteer- contact Rich to get a placard.  Arrive around 10:00 am in order to set up.

Instructions for the Public:
Come to the Gateway Arch and view the solar eclipse on October 14.  The Park will have at least one filtered telescope and solar eclipse glasses available.  Kids can pick up a Junior Ranger Eclipse Explorer booklet and earn a badge.  The viewing will take place on the Gateway Arch Entrance Plaza, weather permitting.

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
Cloudy. Stayed inside Visitor Center due to misty weather. One telescope showed terrestrial views through window. All 300 eclipse glasses were given out, along with 173 Eclipse booklets and 63 badges awarded. Made something out of nothing.
