Observe the Perseid Meteor Shower from Babler State Park
Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park and the St Louis Astronomical Society invite the public to view the Perseid Meteors on Saturday Aug 10th between 9pm to midnight. The close to Full Moon will interfere with seeing the fainter meteors, but brighter ones should still be visible.
Members of the St Louis Astronomical Society will provide telscopic views of the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn if skies permit.
We will view meteors from the monument field located up the hill from the Park entrance. All visitors should bring lawn chairs and blankets for sitting or lying on. Red light flashlights should be used to maintain dark adaptation. Dress for temperature drops and bring insect repellent. People should also bring food and drink.
