  Fort Roberdeau

Please plan to arrive at the fort around 9:30 AM to get set up.
The Claysburg Kimmel School District Summer STEM & Arts program students (grades 5-10) are coming to the fort and observatory for a field trip on Wednesday, July 14.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm excited to add STEM programming to our usual history related school tours. Usually the students who come for the history are 5th grade and younger. The Claysburg summer STEM has older kids grades 5th to 10th. So we'll have to step it up a bit. The plan is to offer the four stations as follows:

1) Observatory
====================================================
Yes the observatory will be opened for Sun viewing ETC.

2) Overview of lead mining at the fort from the earliest mining to the most recent field research by Juniata College geology and archaeology departments.
3) The Lead Miner/Blacksmith demonstrating at the forge for bullet making and wrought iron work.
4) The Science of Frontier Food Preservation
