The LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library is proud to announce the Kick-Off event for our series of NEA Big Read programs this spring, beginning Saturday, March 2, at McCarty Park next to the Main Library. The event will feature community partners who focus on the education of Leon County's historical past, local ecology, and sustainability for the future, which is precisely why we thought of you! We would be thrilled to host The Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission at the Kick-Off, highlighting your services to our patrons and the community. Please see below for more event details: Date: Saturday, March 2, 2024 Time: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Location: McCarty Park,129 W Park Ave, Tallahassee, FL 32301 Details: We are asking each partner to host an activity or provide information related to the themes of the books below. The Library will provide tables and chairs for vendors. RSVP: Use our form to RSVP by Monday, February 12 The NEA Big Read annually provides support to selected nonprofit organizations around the country to host dynamic community-wide reading programs in collaboration with local partners to develop and conduct engaging events and activities. The Library will hand out copies of this year's Big Read, The Bear by Andrew Krivak, and the Little Read, The Hike by Alison Farrell.
