Join us every Sunday at Sunset (depending on the weather) at Taylor Dock for an exploration of the universe through high-quality, affordable telescopes. Our goal is not just to showcase other worlds but also to guide you on how to navigate them safely. We're here to answer all your questions along the way, and the best part – it's completely free!
Venturing past the giants like Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, we'll delve into the wonders of distant star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies. Closer to home, witness valleys, rills, and mountains gleaming in the lunar dawn across the Moon's surface during its phases. When conditions are optimal, marvel at craters within craters!
Our preferred telescopes include 10" Newtonians – you can even put your signature on them after use – and an 80mm Apochromatic. These telescopes are the backbone of our weekly program, and we often have special guests like the Coronado Personal Solar Telescope, offering a view of giant plumes of hydrogen plasma erupting from the Sun.
Feel free to bring your own telescope; our members are ready to assist you in understanding and using your equipment. This event is open to the public and free of charge, but don't forget to dress warmly if the weather is chilly!
Remember to look for us at Taylor Dock whenever the skies are clear, every Sunday at Sunset!
