Comments and anecdotes about the event:
This was an absolutely fantastic inaugural event! The new partnership between WASI, Gambrill State Park, and the Frederick county public library was amazing. As a rain or shine event, we were unsure how many folks might actually make their way out. However, due to above average social marketing on multiple platforms there were 162 attendees, which literally packed the Tea Room at High Knob. The audience was thoroughly engaged with my presentation on Moon Phases, and used nearly all activities materials before the evening was over. Laurie, one of two official NASA eclipse ambassadors from WASI, gave a great presentation on understanding the motion of planetary bodies that cause eclipses. It was by any standard a smashing success and the beginning of a new outreach partnership.
