Astrobiology is the study of the origin, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe.
NASA's Astrobiology Program addresses three fundamental questions: How does life begin and evolve? Is there life beyond Earth and, if so, how can we detect it? What is the future of life on Earth and in the universe?
Dr. David Morrison is the senior scientist at the NASA Astrobiology Institute, NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California, where he participates in a variety of research programs in astrobiology.
Dr. Morrison was a founder of the multidisciplinary field of astrobiology, and hosts the website "Ask an Astrobiologist,":
