A lot of people don't think about the sky everyday. Some might not even look up, day or night. But if you start stargazing with astronomy clubs, it's difficult to stop paying attention to the sky. All of a sudden, you start wondering more and more about which constellations are in view. You start asking questions: How many moons does Saturn have? How big did you say that canyon is on Mars?! Astronomy becomes a daily interest, and you want to fuel that interest.
If you've never been to a star party or solar observing event, try one out. Lots of clubs offer sidewalk astronomy, so you might see a telescope set up in a public place. In the picture above, Grants Pass Astronomers are set up in front of a mattress store! Look at all the free goodies they have on the display table, including a sun pizza from NASA. Check our calendar and you'll most likely find an event that's easy to get to and free. And on our Facebook page we help you keep up with stargazing, so that you'll know what's going on in the sky.
Wishing you clear skies!
