The TAA is having a public star party on Sat. , Feb. 22 at the Arthur Pursell Observatory.  The address is 9242 Ave 184, Tulare CA 93274.  The night begins with a short program on the night’s sky at 6:00pm.  Then you will go outside and view the sky targets through our member’s telescope.  The cost is $ 5.00 per person over the age of 12 years.  This event is dependent on the weather being clear.  It will be cold so dress appropriately.  Check our Facebook Group on Saturday after noon for a GO , No Go Post.

TAA Arthur Pursell Observatory (APO)

The Arthur Pursell Observatory

The Tulare Astronomical Association owns it’s own observatory. The observatory was built in 1967 on donated property. It is located 7 miles southwest of the city of Tulare at 9242 Avenue 184 Tulare, CA 93274. All materials and labor were also donated by members of the community. The observatory has a 12′ 6″ motorized Ash Dome. The dome was donated by the Tulare Lions Club.
