Event

Hoping for reasonably clear skies tonight.  See you there. :-)

Central Arkansas Astronomical Society members will provide constellation tours and share telescopic views of Summer Milky Way objects through their telescopes. Please come join us, dress warmer than you think, and don’t wear clothes or shoes that light up. Probably not needed, but bring bug spray in case and a flashlight - preferably red, or consider picking one up at the event for $5.  Folding chairs and water are excellent additions. (Note, white lights will have a removable red film applied to them at the event.)

This event is weather-dependent; clouds will cancel the event; if in doubt, check back one hour before the scheduled starting time to see if the calendar shows a cancellation.

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
The plan was to start the observing at 9 pm. Visitors were allowed to park close to the observing field until the start time. At the start time, the gate was mostly closed and visitors who arrived late had to park outside the gate and walk into the viewing area. Car headlights would have been a disturbance.
