Come join us as a visitor or a member at FWAS' monthly General Meeting, where we gather to meet new people in the hobby, experience a presentation by an expert on an astronomy-related topic, learn about upcoming celestial events and get to know a constellation, hear about the club's public outreach efforts, and discuss current club business. For members who wish to join online, an invitation with a link to the interactive Zoom call will be sent out via email one week prior to the meeting.

For our main presentation at this Fort Worth Astronomical Society meeting, I am pleased to welcome - in person - Dr. Ashkan Salamat, Physics and Astronomy Professor at the University of Las Vegas.
The ability to understand and replicate the interiors of planets in the laboratory is one of the newest frontiers in science. Using diamonds and high-powered lasers, researchers can recreate the extreme pressures and temperatures found deep within Earth and other planets. Dr. Salamat's talk explores the remarkable diversity of planetary interiors across our solar system and demonstrates how laboratory experiments help us understand the composition, evolution, and potential properties of distant worlds, including newly discovered exoplanets.
