EAS November 15th Meeting - 'Among the Mountains of the Moon'
Presented live in person by EAS favorite Dr Ron Hobbs, NASA Solar System Ambassador.
"Thomas Harriot and Galileo Galilei were the first astronomers to see that there were mountains on what had been thought to be a smooth translucent sphere.
Exploring the mountains of the Moon allowed us to understand the Moon as a geological body.
The mountains of the Moon became important landmarks for lunar exploration, and will continue to be important as we return to the Moon. This talk will explore the high points of the Moon.
As humanity returns to the lunar surface the lunar mountains will continue to be important landmarks."
