Event

Join the Back Bay Amateur Astronomers at Greenbrier Library in Chesapeake for an evening of classic science fiction and a side of lunar astronomy!  Tonight, we'll be discussing Robert Heinlein's classic "The Moon is a harsh Mistress," including technological considerations in lunar colonization, AI development, and sociological considerations relevent to books from the Golden Age of Science Fiction.

Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
We discussed the good science, including what we know about the Moon, from the half-century-old and pre-Apollo novel, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. A small turnout on a dubiously clear night the first day after the Thanksgiving weekend, but we went outside after to view the lovely Moon!
