Event

The Cosmic Coffeehouse is the brainchild of longtime SSAS club member Steve LaFlamme, and is a monthly Zoom gathering of interested persons that engage in casual discussions on all things astronomy. It is always scheduled for the 15th of the month beginning at 7pm eastern time, and generally runs for about 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Topics typically include observing and imaging projects that folks have been currently working on, and the group interests span a diverse range of topics. The only way to get the Zoom link sent to you is to email Steve at astro-geek@comcast.net and ask to be included.

Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
The 45th edition of the Cosmic Coffeehouse got underway at just past 7pm EST, and over the course of the next hour and twenty minutes several folks took to sharing their screens and discussing their various astronomy adventures over the past month. Topics included lunar and planetary imaging, spectroscopic mapping of open star clusters, astronomical imaging software programs, astronomy event guidebooks and more. Once again the group was a diverse mix of folks from at least four different astronomy clubs, but all working under the same sky. Respectfully Submitted by Mike McCabe
