Norman North High School Astronomy Classes and Club frequently hold night viewing events for students to actually see the universe at night, instead of just learning about it sitting in a classroom.
These are held at;
Washington Elementary School
600 48th Avenue SE, Norman, OK 73026
Observing Field is due West of the Main Parking Lot at Washington Elementary!
This has long been supported by a few OKCAC members, but more are always welcome! These events last about an hour. If you bring a telescope, the field is usually open at least 15 minutes before hand for setup.
If you live in the South OKC or Norman area, please consider coming to help out with these!
The next event is going to be at 7pm, 15 Jan 26. Check back right before you leave home to ensure it will be held.
Both weather, and lack of students signing up for the event, can cause cancellations.
