Members of the Astronomical Society of Greater Hartford will be setting up a variety of telescopes for guided stargazing as the sun goes down.  The public is also invited to bring their own telescopes and binoculars to take advantage of our Club members' expertise.  The evening of August 12 is the peak of the annual Perseid Meteor Shower, one of the most prolific meteor showers of the year.  August 12 is a New Moon night, promising an especially dark sky, perfect for spotting the greatest number of 'shooting stars'.
