Event

International Astronomy Day is a world-wide event designed to celebrate all facets of astronomy. This event is FREE & open to the public. You can find out more details about National Astroomy Day by visiting the Astronomical League's website here: https://www.astroleague.org/astronomy-day-fact-sheet/.

This event is for all ages.

The BBAA will be celebrating Astronomy Day again this year by setting up at the Portsmouth Public Library at 601 Court Street in downtown Portsmouth from 10pm - 1pm. Join us for crafts and a view of the sky at the Portsmouth Main Library in celebration of National Astronomy Day.

Stop by and take a look at the Sun through a safe, solar-filtered telescope. Or stop by one of our tables for information about astronomy and getting involved in the hobby of backyard observing.

A NOTE ABOUT THE WEATHER
The BBAA will only setup their telescopes if the weather is conducive for astronomy viewing but we will have a table inside regardless of the weather. You can view our official calendar here: https://nightsky.jpl.nasa.gov/club/event-list.cfm?Club_ID=1591.
