Book Release Star Party ('A Court of Thorns and Roses')

Monday, October 26, 2026

Event

The Novel Grounds Bookstore (1501 Cedar Rd #120, Chesapeake, VA 23322) is holding an "A Court of Thorns and Roses" (ACOTAR) midnight book release party on Monday, October 26.

The event will begin at 9 PM, which should offer a great opportunity for stargazing—much better than our original June date. Of course, there’s no pressure to stay for the full event if a Monday night makes timing tricky.

It feels especially fitting given the book’s iconic quote: “To the stars who listen, and the dreams that are answered.”

Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
This may have been the most light-polluted site we have been to yet, but that didn't stop the attendees from enjoying the views of the Moon and Saturn, as well as their book release party. The BBAA was thrilled to support a local small business on a night that was very special for their clientele. Jeremy had his 6-inch refractor he got from Mark Ost, and had a beautiful view of Saturn. Attendees "oohed" and "aahed" at the view of the Full Moon in George's 80-mm refractor.
