Event

Come see the skies that lent us their name as the Back Bay Amateur Astronomers join the rangers of False Cape State Park for an evening of stargazing over the Back Bay - in some of the darkest skies in the region!

The night begins for visitors promptly at 5:30pm with a shuttle ride through the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge accompanied by an astronomical talk, followed by a few hours of observing in dark skies through club telescopes.

Volunteers, please arrive by 4pm to allow time for the rangers to transport us and our gear to the observing location.

The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation charges a fee for this event.  Price is TBD (expected to be ~$10).  Event volunteers get in free.
