Come join us at the Highland Road Park Observatory to celebrate International Astronomy Day. Lots of exhibitors, activities for kids and adults, food trucks, etc. 

Solar viewing during the day and Stargazing after sundown (weather permitting) and all kinds of presentations and activities thoughout the day!

It was founded and operated jointly by the Baton Rouge Recreation & Parks Commission (who own the property and building and provides staff), Louisiana State University (LSU, who owns the telescopes and equipment), and the Baton Rouge Astronomical Society (BRAS, who provides manpower, expertise, operations, materials, and outreach).
