Star Party at Lake Sylvia State Park. This is the darkest site CAAS uses for a public star party and a drivable distance for central Arkansas residents. But, if you like, there are camping and RV spots. Programming begins at 6:00 PM in Ogden Hall.
The program will include guidance on how to participate in a star party, an introduction to the telescopes being used, and a guide to what is currently up in the sky to observe. Observing begins at 7:00 on the peninsula out into the lake on the south side, including telescopic views of numerous celestial objects and naked-eye constellation tours.
