Event

This is our second time getting our students and community to come out and spend an evening exploring science, math, and technology through hands-on experiments and projects. This year we chose the sky is the limit theme to explore and educate our students and community in ways that young children can get involved in science to solve local problems such as recycling, pollution, zoning, etc. We would love to teach students how to observe the skies, how to use telescopes, and how this science help us to understand our impact on the environment. We would like to have astronomers to come, set up their telescopes outside, and teach students about the sky, bring awareness of astronomy and the importance of that for our society. Our intention is to get students curious about this scientific area.

Instructions for the Public:
We will have volunteers to help monitor kids and keep small groups coming through your area. Also your team don't need to present the entire time. We can schedule sessions to allow time for breaks. I want to start a young astronomers club next year and it would be a huge help to have your club come in and get students and parents excite and curious about the sky. We are talking to our PTA rep to include on next year budget money for telescopes.
