Event

Mars is closest to Earth, Venus is furthest angle away from the Sun at Sunset and we have Saturn and Jupiter to view on a Moonless night. Let’s have a planet party! Join CSASTRO volunteers with their telescopes at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. We’ll set up our largest telescopes at the Limekiln Trailhead for views of these and other celestial sights. Mar makes it’s closest approach to Earth once every two years so take advantage of this opportunity (or plan to wait for two more years!) and join us!

There will be free hot chocolate, apple cider and tea for outreach volunteers and attendees.

This event is free and open to the public though state park fees apply if you don’t already have a state park pass. We’ll be set up in a coned off area on the far eastern part of the Limekiln Trailhead parking lot with plenty of parking available!
