Event

The Wellington Public Library now has a telescope available for the patrons to check out like a book. Follow this link to see what the telescope looks like. You just need to be at least 18 years of age and in good standing with the library to check this telescope out. We will be having a telescope 101 observing program at the Wellington Worden Sports Complex. Everyone is welcome to look at the night sky with us.

Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
We were promoting the library telescope program to the patrons. We went over how to use the telescope and its availability at the library as if it were a book. We did discuss the upcoming solar eclipse and went over the safe ways to observe the Sun. If it wasn't so cold and windy, the patrons would have stayed longer. One young lady didn't let that get in her way as she was able to locate Jupiter and the Moon with the telescope.
