The Garvey Ranch Observatory is open to the public every Wednesday evening from 7:30 PM to 10 PM. Go into the dome to use the 8 Inch Refractor or observe through one of our telescopes on the lawn. Visit our workshop to learn how you can build your own telescope, grind your own mirror,  or sign up for our free seasonal astronomy classes.

Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
I heard that we had around 60 people at the observatory last night. There were several people in the workshop working on their telescopes and grinding mirrors. The first Winter Skies astronomy class was busy in the classroom while other members spent the evening chatting together and meeting new members and the public.
