Event

Join us next Monday, November 11th, for a rare transit of Mercury across the Sun!

Mount Wilson Observatory will be open early on Monday, November 11th, for free viewing of Mercury’s transit across the face of the Sun. Only 13 Mercury transits happen per century! The last one was in 2016 and the next one will be in 2032, so you don’t want to miss this one. Get up early and come up the mountain to view the event safely with one of the Observatory’s solar telescopes. The transit will be in progress at sunrise (6:21 am) and will end around 10:00 am. We will have coffee!
