Members of the Lima Astronomical Society and Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District host the annual Perseid Meteor Shower watch party at Kendrick Woods. 

Bring a blanket and/or a lawn chair, lay back and try to spot some meteors streaking across the night sky!  Lima Astro will have telescopes on the field for observing various astronomical objects, as well as informational handouts about meteors and other astronomy topics.  

This is a very popular event each year!  People join to watch meteors, look through telescopes, and to enjoy an evening outside!  If you have a telescope, you are invited to bring it!  Last year we had several visitors on the field with their own telescopes where they were observing and taking astrophotos.
