Schoonover Observatory will be open to the public for observing objects in the night sky. Commonly viewed objects through the telescope in the dome at the observatory include: planets as they are available in the evening sky, the Moon, interesting double stars, star clusters, nebula, and galaxies. Often there will be constellations, satellites, space stations, and some of the objects pointed out that were being viewed in the telescope, using no optical aids.
As this is the December observing night, please dress approprately for the weather. The observatory dome cannot be heated, but it does protect from most of the wind.
