Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
In spite of poor daytime conditions we managed to have a nice session at the park tonight. This was our first session after taking the summer months off. 7 club members were out with 3 telescopes set up for approximately 20 visitors. One couple had their own small refractor. Venus put on a spectacular show with a nice crescent shape that many thought was the moon. We also had a very nice ISS pass in addition to many other satellites streaking across the sky. We were able to point out a number of constellations, the summer triangle, a globular cluster and the double star Albireo. Mercury was low in the sky but obscured by clouds on the horizon.
