Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
Excellent presentation from Dr. Mojtaba Akhavan-Tafti about the Parker Solar Probe and what it has discovered. Mojtaba explained how the proposal was carefully worded to maximize the probability that Congress would approve it. He also showed "logic gate" charts to show how a sensor failure could be mitigated by a combination of other sensors or instruments, and how many failures would lead to the mission being classified as successful or not after it is complete. This was very interesting, and an aspect of mission design that we have not seen in any previous presentation. We had 17 in-person attendees and 12 via Zoom.
