Event

Aerospace Evening is a free collection of twelve hands-on activities introducing the public to simple experiments and scientific principles.  Multiple activities engaged elementary school children, such as constructing and launching their own straw rockets, viewing the night sky with local amateur astronomers and telescopes, watching planetarium shows, even creating their own lunar craters!

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
Phenomenal evening with nearly 30 volunteers from UNO STEM club, local elementary teachers, Omaha Astronomical Society and US Strategic Command! Many "wows" or "so cool" shouts could be heard in the hallways and classrooms in Durham Science Center as children of all ages enjoyed the various hands-on experiences. See write up.
